North Carolina Private Security Company Declares Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

The private law enforcement firm Never Quit Services has called it quits and has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. In its bankruptcy filing, the Angier, North Carolina-based company listed $21,976 in assets against $107,688 in liabilities. The largest claim, a business loan extended by First Federal Bank, is for $50,000. Other debts include delinquent credit card bills, auto loan, payroll expenses, unpaid taxes owed to the Internal Revenue Service and past due unemployment insurance payments to the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, reports Lauren K. Ohnesorge for the Triangle Business Journal. According to its Facebook page, Never Quit Services offered “’the most highly trained company police officers’” to patrol businesses, neighborhoods and residences. In addition to mobile patrol services, the company offers alarm response services, ATM escorts, stationary officers for hire, private investigation work, and hostile employee terminations.” Founder of Never Quit Services, Matthew Noel, reported to Ohnesorge that a contract had fallen through, “stiffing the company on $20,000 in one month”.  Noel also reportedly stated that “congressional policy” contributed to the closure and that his company was under “an umbrella” of firms that are dissolving. He also said that the Affordable Care Act contributed to the closure of his business. Aaron Carter, the 26-year-old pop/hip-hop singer who became a star among pre-teen and teen-aged audiences during the last decade, has declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy. According to an article published in KDrama Stars, the vocalist’s bankruptcy listing revealed $2,204,854 in debt and only $8,232.16 in assets. His debts include $31,166 owed on his American Express card and over $1 million owed to the IRS. The bankruptcy filing also showed that Carter spent $2,005/month to live: including $600 for food, $150 for clothes and $65 for hygiene. Carter’s representative told USA Today that “’Aaron filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy protection to alleviate past issues in an effort to move forward with his life and career. The overwhelming majority of the debt he is asking to be discharged is from more than 10 years ago when he was a minor and not in control of his finances.’” According to the Huffington Post and the Wichita Eagle, Carter said, “’I’ve been living a different lifestyle. I don’t party. I’ve partied enough. I don’t go out. I focus on other things that are much more important. I focus on being an entertainer. I love performing. That’s what I’m about.
