Omaha Businesses File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Written by CFB Blogger. Posted in Blog
Two separate Omaha, Nebraska, businesses have each recently filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases reports Russell Hubbard in
The Omaha World-Herald.
Meyer & Sons Mail Order Comics, a mail-order comic book outlet, listed about $1 million in liabilities with less than $50,000 worth of assets. Mitch Meyer, who owned 25% of the business stated in the article, “’We just wound up in a poor position financially.’” The main creditors of Meyer & Sons are
Wells Fargo Bank as well as a Maryland comic-book distributor. There will likely be no assets to distribute to any creditors in this Chapter 7 bankruptcy case.
Tommy Colina’s Kitchen, with now-shuttered locations in midtown and west Omaha, had recently finished third among Omaha restaurants in
The World-Herald’s Food Prowl for Best Eggs Benedict. Grant Lundin, a shareholder and a co-owner of Tommy Colina’s Kitchen has also filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. His bankruptcy filing showed about $215,000 of debt, mainly associated with the now-defunct eatery, and assets of about $70,000. The largest creditor in the Tommy Colina’s Kitchen bankruptcy is an Illinois restaurant wholesaler that is owed approximately $120,000.
