North Carolina Country Club Files Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

ES2 Sports & Leisure LLC, the Raleigh, North Carolina, company that manages the
Forest Oaks Country Club, has filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The bankruptcy filing, made in
U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, shows assets of less than $500,000 and debt of between $100,000- $500,000. Creditors include
Callaway Golf, Divots Sportswear, Foot Joy, Maxx Sunglasses and
PING.
Also listed among the club’s creditors are Troy and Kathy Dudich, who operated
Isabella’s Cafe at the club and who had invested heavily in its renovation, and Steve and Pam Sharpe, who had leased the country club for three years before it was taken over by ES2 Sports & Leisure.
Also on the creditor list are
High Point Country Club and
Pinewood Country Club.
ES2 also reportedly owes money to such government entities as the N
.C. Employment Security Commission, the city of Greensboro, the
Internal Revenue Service, the
N.C. Department of Revenue and the
N.C. ABC Commission.
According to an article by Owen Covington in the
Triad Business Journal, employees and members of the country club arrived at the facility to find the doors locked and a note saying that the club was closed with details coming from the bankruptcy court.
