Astor & Black, a company that was known for its line of luxury custom menswear, had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last August, after having been a successful business for nearly nine years. Fast forward a year and a half later; the company has just been purchased out of its Chapter 7 bankruptcy by Joe Chay, founder and CEO of “the up-and-coming custom men’s brand Bello Verde”, reports www.digitaljournal.com. According to the news report, Chay, who is a former employee of Astor & Black, purchased the company in January hoping to revitalize the brand as a “sister label” of his new brand of men’s clothing, Bello Verde. From the article, Chay stated, “’I haven’t officially decided the future role that Astor & Black will play in my company, but until that concept materializes, I want former clients to realize that they can still get the A&B brand they have come to know and love.’” Chay continued, “The bottom line is, we want all of our customers, new and old, to know that their satisfaction is our top priority.
