Written by CFB Blogger. Posted in Blog
Mekhi Phifer, an actor on the long-running
NBC hit drama
“ER”, has recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The celebrity, who also co-starred with actor/rapper Eminem in the film
“8 Mile”, lists liabilities of approximately $1.3 million and assets of only $67,701, according to bankruptcy documents filed with the
Los Angeles bankruptcy court.
According to
TMZ and Melanie Cohen writing for the
Wall Street Journal Bankruptcy Beat, Phifer’s assets include several guns and a 12-year-old Segway. Most of his debt is owed to the
Internal Revenue Service and
California’s Franchise Tax Board.
Phifer reports having a monthly income of $7,545 but spending $11,574. Regardless of your income, if you spend more than you earn, you will invariably find yourself in financial peril and perhaps in bankruptcy court.
