The
Arizona Contractors Association Inc. (dba the
Arizona Construction Association), the 60-year-old nonprofit advocacy group for the construction trade in
The Grand Canyon State, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the
U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Arizona.
According to a report in the
Phoenix Business Journal by Kristena Hansen, bankruptcy records show the organization having no more than $50,000 in assets and between $500,001 and $1 million in debt.
Last year the nonprofit organization, whose president and CEO is David Jones, lost its office condominium in Phoenix to foreclosure. In July 2013 the newspaper story states, “the lender filed a nearly $500,000 lawsuit against the ACA for deficiency, or the money still owed on the loan”.
