Tim and Heidi Redelsperger, the former owners of a
Beef O’Brady’s franchise in Billings, Montana, have filed for a joint Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the
U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Arizona in Phoenix, owing over $2.1 million, mainly related to their restaurant business. The couple’s bankruptcy filing is, apparently, an attempt to thwart the collection efforts of some 90 creditors, including the state of Montana,
Big Sky Linens and Uniforms, Ocwen Loan Servicing of Florida
, Thomas McGrath Trust of Idaho, TV stations for advertising, banks and restaurant food, beverage and equipment suppliers, reports Erik Olson for
www.billingsgazette.com.
The restaurant, which closed suddenly in mid-September with little or no warning to employees or suppliers, opened just a year ago September with business partner, Jim Wood. The casino behind Beef O’Brady’s remains open under different ownership. The owners operated the restaurant under the name
Fresh Concepts, which also ran the restaurant
Baja Fresh/Canyon Burgers. That business closed in July, again with little or no warning.
Mr. Redelsperger is listed in court documents as president of
Snappy Auto Spa, a car wash business; Mrs. Redelsperger is a senior account executive at
Riviera Broadcasting in Phoenix. In bankruptcy documents, the couple listed their combined monthly income at $6,946.41. They listed their monthly expenses at $7,435; seems like they need to work on a better monthly budget.
Beef O’Brady’s, a Florida-based restaurant chain with locations in 23 states, “is a family-friendly sports pub, with 40 beers on tap and big-screen TVs for watching sports, [serving] hamburgers, Mexican food, pizza and wings. Officials at Beef O’Brady’s headquarters, who are owed about $90,000 in franchise fees, have said they hope to find another owner to restart the Billings restaurant, which they said had been doing well”, the article avers.
