Construction Company Files Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Written by CFB Blogger. Posted in Blog
Lamar Construction Company of Hudsonville, Michigan, has closed its doors for the last time and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Yvonne Bedolla, the director of human resources for the construction company, told
24 Hour News 8 that 293 employees were out of a job, including 180 in Michigan, when Lamar Construction announced that one of its two divisions would remain open. Company officials said the structural steel operation, which employed approximately 100 people, would remain open. However, several employees told the news program that they were recently told that they should not report to work. Management previously said the company’s problems had to do with the “current economic conditions” of Lamar’s construction operation.
Bedolla avers that some of Lamar’s former employees have found jobs with other companies.
