Big Easy Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Written by CFB Blogger. Posted in Blog
Seletha Nagin, wife of former New Orleans, Louisiana, Mayor Ray Nagin, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Texas. In her Chapter 7 bankruptcy listing, Nagin listed 14 creditors, including the
Internal Revenue Service and
Everbank of Jacksonville, Florida, the lender who holds the mortgage on her home in Frisco, Texas.
From a story in the
Shreveport Times by David Hammer, Nagin’s bankruptcy lists between $100,000 and $500,000 to the listed creditors.
In an unrelated but interesting story, Ray Nagin is scheduled to be sentenced on federal corruption in which the government is seeking to collect over $500,000, the amount he reportedly illicitly gained from his crimes.
